@Sylphox I agree! I am still against these new formats, but AppImage I had the least problem with and I started using them again in Slackware.
@parasurv why do you have a problem with them if you don't mind me asking?
@Sylphox They wanted to solve a non-existent problem. Major distros have reliable ways to distribute packages. Others have AUR, or community provided packages.
They are mostly heavy since you have to attach dependencies to work. Also they wanted to solve fregmentation of package formats throughout all Linux distros, and soon we had 3 distro independent formats!
AppImage is the least hussle to use, for me.
