My long-promised introductory post:

I am an experienced EE. My talents include switching power supplies, analog design, and microcontroller programming - most recently from TI (MSP 430 and TM4C12X). No experience with Arduino or Raspberry Pi, though. I am willing to answer questions, but presently I doing something completely non-electronic: a levitating top. They exist now, but mine will be way cooler. Details (and probably a video) at a later date.

@otto9otto Welcome! I look forward to hearing/seeing more on the levitating top. I've tinkered a bit with the MSP 430. They seem really great for low power applications. I've only recently started to get into Raspberry Pi, and the experience has been good so far. I set up a CUPS and Google Cloud Print server with one and it's working great. They seem well suited to that type of job.

Makerdon is a Mastodon instance focused on Makers, Open Source Hardware (OSHW) and STEM/STEAM. Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) is a likely topic as well. If you're interested in making things, allowing others to build on your work, and/or teaching others about making things, you might like this instance.
